QotW: My Commute

How do you travel to and from work - personal vehicle, bus, subway/train, pedal power? What does it cost you per week in gas or fares?

I use my feet. I get up, do my morning routine.. then walk over to the computer. It costs me ZERO in gas or fares. Envy me.

The Immortal

My paternal Grandmother had a mild stroke on Friday night and a few hours later at the hospital she was yelling "You damn kids go home and get some sleep." as if nothing had happened. Fully alert, moving the leg she hadn't been able to move (which prompted the rush to the hospital) and as is her nature... giving the hospital staff a hard time. She's only been sick a handful of times in her entire life. She's 95 years old now.. and I'm beginning to suspect... immortal. I love her to death.

What would you have thought...

Lunchtime.. two females sitting together eating Chinese food in a crowded cafe. One looks at the other and asks in a normal non hushed voice.. "Are we going to have babies or not?" the other says "I don't know. are we?" and looks around realizing the other has no clue she just made them sound like Lesbians.

I wonder if the people sitting behind us thought GG was asking if WE were going to have babies together. I know what she meant, but I'm sure they did not. Every half year or so she asks the same question and gets the same response. This... however, is the first time we had gawking onlookers.

Why is it...

Why is it that if you can see something everywhere, but when you need it you can not find it anywhere? My best friend needed a pair of those ugly fur lined boots for work. You know the ones I mean... the kind that looks as if they've been made from one of Jim Henson's muppets. We always see them in stores when we're out shopping so we didn't think there would be a problem. We were wrong. We went to three towns and over half a dozen stores before we finally tracked down a pair. I tell you what though. We have never been to so many stores in so little time. We usually spend hours shopping, but today we'd go into the store.. I'd asked them if they had any fur lined boots, they'd say no and we'd haul ass.

Thankfully the pair she finally ended up with didn't appear to have resulted in the death of a muppet.

QotD: Vox Potluck

If your Vox Neighborhood had a potluck dinner tonight, what dish, drink or dessert would you bring?

I would be the bringer of strong beverage. I would get Halo wasted off her ass and force her to sing songs from Wizard of Oz and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory all night. Good times. I would of course also have to bring an entire box of Pixi Stix and Nerds to keep her appeased.

When do you start your holiday shopping?

I sort of shop all year round. If I see something I think someone will like I get it and put it back for their birthday or christmas. Sometimes I can't wait so I go ahead and give it to them early. I love giving gifts more than receiving them.
